Goloba Ibrahim (2011-2023)

No one knew much about Goloba Ibrahim's history, only that his parents were likely both deceased, and he was raised by his grandmother who died in his arms. He was discovered wandering around the village alone during the Covid-19 lockdown. The village chairperson took the responsibility to save him and she gave him into our care. He loved farming, and dreamt to be a great farmer.

He was attacked and killed by wild lions while returning home from fetching water miles away, starkly highlighting the constant struggle for basic necessities like clean water that we face daily. Goloba’s memory fuels our determination to secure land with a borehole, ensuring clean water access and saving lives.

Clean water is an essential human right. No child should have to risk their life for it.

Rest in Peace, Goloba. You were loved.

Goloba died in 2023. The Goloba Amazzi Fund was begun in his honor, so that no child has to walk miles for water.
