The mission of Desire Child Care Organization is to empower and inspire compromised and vulnerable Ugandan children by providing essential needs,
holistic arts-based education, and fostering a healthy, loving, and safe family environment.
What do we mean by compromised and vulnerable?
A child under the age of sixteen years may be considered compromised or vulnerable because of the death or disappearance of, abandonment or desertion by, or separation or loss from one or both parents. The child of an unwed or underage mother may also be considered compromised or vulnerable if the extended family is unable or unwilling to care for the child properly. How is Desire Child Care Organization different from other similar organizations?
Desire is different because we are a family-operated organization that is dedicated to providing long-term love and mentorship to compromised and vulnerable children. We are not an orphanage, we are a family. We are not tied to any religious organization. Our goal is to provide a secure and nurturing environment where each unique child feels safe to share their thoughts and feelings. We are a legally registered, volunteer-based organization and all of the funds go directly to the care of the children. There is no administrative overhead. We also prioritize close physical and mental health attention for each of our kids and believe in a holistic approach to child-raising.
Additionally, we are working towards achieving self-sufficiency through agriculture and aim to help children become confident cultural contributors and leaders. Our ultimate goal is to support them in achieving their individual hearts' desires.

How do I support Desire Child Care Organization?

There with one click you can set up an easy recurring credit card payment, or make a one-time gift of support. Please share our website with anyone you think may be interested in becoming our global family of sponsors or becoming an angel investor.

Are my donations tax-deductible?
Desire Child Care is now an officially recognized Ugandan Indigenous NGO. We are currently exploring ways to make it so international donations are tax-deductible. We will update this space as soon as we are able.

How will my donation be used?
This is entirely up to you. If you would like to make an investment toward our urgent PHASE ONE priorities on the INVEST IN OUR PROJECT page, you can do so directly, securely, and quickly via Paypal. If you wish to provide specifically toward education fees, bedding, toys, books, art supplies, land purchase, livestock, etc., just let us know and we will happily comply with your wishes. We appreciate every generous gift, no matter the amount.

Can I sponsor the needs of one or more children?
Absolutely! Visit the MEET THE CHILDREN page and let us know which child or children you would like to set up a sponsorship fund for. Monthly $50 sponsorships will cover each child's needs: food, housing, education, hygiene and healthcare.

Will my information be shared or sold?
Your privacy is of paramount importance to us. We promise to never share or sell your personal information.
Please let us know if we may use your name to add to our public list of donors (first initial and last name only). We are also happy to list you as Anonymous. Your preference.
