How to know it is really us
People have used our photographs and our words to pose as Desire Child Care. If a message looks wrong, check it against this page.
What we will never do
- We will never ask you for gift cards, cryptocurrency, or a wire transfer.
- We will never ask you for your bank details, card number, or passwords.
- We will never send you a private message asking for money.
- We will never pressure you to give quickly or in secret.
- We will never ask you to pay another sponsor, a courier, or a fee to release a gift.
If any message claiming to be from us does one of these things, it is not from us. Please tell us, and please do not reply to it.
Where we actually are
- Our website: desirechildcare.org, and nowhere else.
- Our email: [email protected] and [email protected]. Both end in @desirechildcare.org. An address ending in anything else is not us.
- Giving: every donation link on this site leads to our giving portal, Hermi’s Hermits, at thevirtualhermit.quest. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not take payment anywhere else.

How to check us for yourself
We are a registered Ugandan Indigenous NGO. Our registration number is MIA/NB/2023/11/5893, and it can be verified independently with the Uganda NGO Bureau. A copy of our registration is on our About Us page.
If you think you have been contacted by someone pretending to be us
Please write to us and tell us what you received, or send it on to [email protected]. It helps us get the account taken down, and it protects the next person. You have done nothing wrong by being careful, and we would far rather answer a message that turns out to be genuine than have you lose anything.
